Keychron makes a lot of keyboards, and the model names are not exactly plain English. If you have landed on the K2, K3, K6, V1 and Q1 and cannot tell them apart, this is the short version. Answer three questions and you will know which one is yours.
Question 1: how much desk space do you want back?
The layout decides the size, and the size decides how much room is left for your mouse.
- Want it small? The K6 is a 65% board. It keeps the arrow keys but drops the function row, so it takes up the least space.
- Want the balance most people pick? The K2 and K3 Max are 75%. Arrows and function row, tiny footprint.

Question 2: standard height or low profile?
This is the one people get wrong, and it matters more than the price.
- Low profile (K3 Max): slim, like a laptop keyboard but mechanical. If you type on a laptop all day and a normal keyboard feels too tall, this is the one.
- Standard height (K2): the classic deeper mechanical feel. If you want that satisfying travel under your fingers, go standard.
There is no better or worse here, just a preference, so pick the one that matches what your hands are used to.

Question 3: do you want to tinker?
Some people just want a great keyboard out of the box. Others want to remap every key and swap parts. Keychron splits these into two lines.
- Just want it to work: the K2, K3 Max and K6 are ready to go.
